Teeter-Totter-A-Thon

Each year the Gamma Pi chapter raises money for Riley Hospital for Children by holding a 24-hour Teeter-Totter-A-Thon. We teeter-totter day and night, asking for pledges and selling raffle tickets and encouraging all of the Rose-Hulman campus to support us as well. We get the entire Greek community involved by holding Penny Wars, where each fraternity tries to give the most money and win prizes. In November 2006 we held our 1st annual Trivia Night to help raise money for Riley's and had teams from all over campus compete for prizes. We canvas local businesses, write letters to companies all over Indiana and our families, can in the dorms, and much more. We also have smaller fundraisers during the year, such as a dinner to honor the senior soccer players or an 80s-themed roller disco to celebrate our chapter birthday!

For the 2006-2007 year, our chapter of 60 girls raised $9898.89 for Riley's and added $200 to the Tri Delta Foundation out of our chapter dues. The sisters of Gamma Pi never stop fundraising--philanthropy is the cornerstone of our sisterhood; we are so proud of what we can accomplish when we work together. We only hope that each successive year our efforts will grow and help even more children in their fight against cancer.
