Welcome to the home page of RHIT'S chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta.

Alpha Lambda Delta is a co-ed fraternity that promotes academic excellence in a student's freshman year. The society is open to all students who earn a 3.5 GPA and who are also in the top 20% of their class when induction occurs in late spring. Membership is lifelong but active participation occurs during a student's sophomore year.

Requirements of RHIT's chapter of ALD include one service project for the Terre Haute community. Past projects have included planting trees in nearby neighborhoods and parks and also helping out at Ryves Hall Youth Center. If you have any suggestions as to possible service projects we could undertake, please let one or more members of the current council know.

Please stay tuned and watch our website for updates as the school year is just beginning and we will have much more to come!

This fall Alpha Lambda Delta members put on a dental drive for our fall quarter service project. The drive was put on to benefit St. Anne's Dental Clinic, a non-profit organization that serves underprivileged citizens of the Wabash Valley with dental services and supplies. 17 ALD members volunteered their time to help make this dental drive a success by putting up collection boxes across the Rose-Hulman campus and by advertising the event in the Hulman Union during the busy lunch periods. These members accrued 24.5 community service hours to make this drive possible. "The drive was a great success" said Mike McDonald, a junior at Rose-Hulman and previous president of ALD. "I'm glad to see things are going so well with this year's ALD class." A total of 68 toothbrushes, 59 tubes of toothpaste, 42 floss containers, 6 containers of mouthwash, and $13 in monetary donations were collected and delivered to St. Anne's Dental clinic on Nov. 30th, 2012. The members of ALD hope to continue their community service by organizing winter and spring events this year.
