Databases

IAIT offers MySQL and PostgreSQL databases for personal, course, and club web pages. These databases are intended to be used for web-based applications such as blogs, forums, or php-applications. To request a database, fill out the online form located at http://www.rose-hulman.edu/TSC/online_forms/database_request/. Please note that students requesting a database for a club will need to have sponsor approval (See http://www.rose-hulman.edu/TSC/policies/faculty_contact/)

Since the databases are only accessible from the web servers, a web-based admin tool such as phpMyAdmin (for MySQL) or phpPgAdmin (for PostgreSQL) will be the best way to have direct access to the database.

IAIT will only provide basic support for these databases.
