Root Certificate

Rose-Hulman has its own root certificates. Installing these root certificates will enable your computer to trust any security certificates created by Rose-Hulman.

Installing the Root Certificates under Windows 7 using Internet Explorer

  • First install the root certificate for Rose-Hulman
  • Click rhit-rootca.crt (Alternate format for Mac: rhit-rootca.cer)
  • Click Open
  • When the Certificate window opens, click Install Certificate...
  • Click Next
  • Select Place all certificates in the following store then Click Browse
  • Select Trusted Root Certificate Authorities then Click OK
  • Click Next->Finish->OK->OK
  • Now install the root certificate for the Rose-Hulman Windows domain (rose-hulman.edu)
  • Click Rose-Hulman.cer
  • Click Open
  • When the Certificate window opens, click Install Certificate...
  • Click Next
  • Select Place all certificates in the following store then Click Browse
  • Select Trusted Root Certificate Authorities then Click OK
  • Click Next->Finish->OK->OK

Root Certificate Fingerprints

These fingerprints allow you to verify the above certificates. To view a certificate's fingerprint, click on one of the above links, click Open -> Details, then scroll down to Thumbprint. The fingerprint will be displayed in the lower half of the window.
