Public Labs
Rose-Hulman has two public computing facilities available for faculty, staff, and student use. The public computing facilities are located on the top floor of the Logan Library, room L-308A, and on the second floor of Olin Hall, Room O-203.
There are fifteen (15) Dell Optiplex GX620 computers in the Logan Library public lab, each with a 3.0 GHz Intel Pentium 4 326 processor, 512MB RAM, Intel GMA950 video adapter, DVD+/-RW, 80GB HDD, and a 17-inch Dell monitor.
There are 33 Hewlett-Packard xw4000 workstations in the Olin 203 public lab, each with a 2.8 GHz Intel Pentium 4 processor, 1 GB DDR RAM, ATI Fire GL 8800 video card with 128 MB RAM, 48X DVD/CD-RW combo drive, 40 GB HDD, and a 19-inch HP s9500 monitor.
All computers in the two public computing facilities are running the Microsoft Windows XP Professional operating system and have most of the academic software installed on them.
The Logan Library public lab can be reserved for training sessions by any RHIT student, staff, or faculty member. To reserve this facility please contact the DRC at x8265 or use Outlook Calendar, select Open a Shared Calendar. In the NAME box, select ALL RESOURCES from the SHOW NAMES FROM THE tab and select Public Computer Lab.
In order to use these computers you must have a valid username and password. If you are unable to login, visit the IAIT Help Desk for assistance.
How to log on to the public lab computers:
- Make sure that the Log On To: field is set to ROSE-HULMAN
- Enter your username and Kerberos password in the appropriate fields and click OK
Your profile and anything you save to the local machine will be lost when you log out. Please make sure that you save everything to your network space.
