A Virtual Private Network (VPN) is a technology that allows a remote user to use the Internet to connect to a corporate network, and once connected, to access services as though he or she was physically located on the network. In addition, all communication between the remote user and the network is encrypted, which keeps sensitive information private as it traverses the Internet.
After a simple software installation and authenticating with his or her Rose-Hulman username and password, the Rose-Hulman VPN allows a remote user to access various campus resources such as Banner, MATLAB, AFS, Tibia, and library resources such as ProQuest, EBSCO, IEEE Explore and others as if he or she were on-campus.
The VPN client is required to connect to the wireless network at Rose-Hulman. You will need the Windows XP VPN client for your laptop or any other Windows XP computer.
Instructions for downloading and installing the VPN client for Windows XP (32-Bit) can be found in our VPN Setup Instructions. You will need your Rose-Hulman username and password to connect.
