Our Team

The Rose-Hulman Efficient Vehicles Team is one of the most diverse teams that competes in Supermileage Competitions. Our team is largely comprised of mechanical engineers, however, chemical engineers, computer engineers, biomedical engineers and mathematicians provide their expertise on this project. This not only allows for different approaches to varying challenges, it helps us learn several things outside our own field of expertise.

Our Competitions

Currently the Rose-Hulman Efficient Vehicle Team competes in two competitions.

SAE Supermileage

The SAE Supermileage competition is currently held in Marshall, Michigan at the EATON Proving Grounds. This yearly competition takes place during the month of June.

Shell Eco-Marathon

The Shell Eco-Marathon is currently held in Houston, Texas at the George R Brown Convention Center. This yearly competition takes place during the end of March to early April.

Our Goal

The objective of the Rose-Hulman Efficient Vehicles Team is to maximize fuel economy in a single person vehicle created to compete against other schools and teams in sanctioned competitions. The team provides an opportunity for students to learn about and participate in the design and construction of a fuel efficient vehicle.
