I would like to encourage you to attend the Fall Meeting, it should be a great workshop. I have known Francis Su for about 10 years, and heard him speak formally and informally about teaching and mathematics. He has many insights to offer and has won national recognition for his efforts, among them the Merten Hasse Prize, the Henry L. Adler Award and delivering the Leitzel Lecture at Mathfest 2006.
The Newsletter continues to evolve in its new webformat. This year we have added pictures from the Spring 2006 Meeting at Taylor University, and will continue to add pictures from future meetings. If you bring a digital camera, to the meeting and take pictures, please send copies of your pictures to the Newsletter Editor for inclusion in the Newsletter.
The second column in the Newsletter appears in this edition, written by the Newsletter Editor, I had the opportunity to attend the annual meeting of AAAS (American Association for the Advancement of Science) in St. Louis last February and become a member. The column documents some of my experiences at the meeting and as a new member of AAAS (read more).
More solitications for columns, updates on programs, et cetera, like some of the information that occurs in MAA Focus and MAA Online, but concerning the Indiana Section of the MAA in particular, and Indiana Colleges and Universities will be forthcoming. |
