	Handel's Messiah , the stable of many holiday celebrations, is a music example of awe at the presence of the infinite. Handel supposedly composed it while locked in his room for three weeks, taking in only food through a service door. He emerged at the end with the Messiah as a completed work, and he was weeping as, according to him, he had seen the eternal.
