Spring Field Training Exercise

The Spring Field Training Exercise is an opportunity for the cadets to experience patrolling on the squad and platoon levels. MS III's lead their squads through STX Lanes (Situation Training Exercises) and lead platoons through Platoon Patrolling. Evaluations are done by the MS IV's in order to prepare the MS III's for Advanced Camp in the summer. This is an excellent opportunity for MS I and II's to test their skills in land navigation and individual movement under simulated battle conditions. Airborne School

Some students in Army ROTC have the unique opportunity to attend the United States Army Airborne School. This is a three week course which trains soldiers to properly conduct Airborne operations. This is done through a three week process which also serves to ensure that the soldiers are physically capable of completing their Airborne mission. The first week is ground week during which soldiers are instructed and tested on exiting the airplane and executing proper Parachute Landing Falls (PLFs). The second week is known as Tower week and includes exiting the 250 foot tower and jumping from a 34 foot tower attached to a suspension harness. During Jump week all the skills learned in the past two weeks are tested when soldiers must complete 5 successful Airborne "jumps." These include jumps with combat equipment and a night jump. All jumps are at 1,250 feet above the ground. Are you ready?
