:: The FUN Stuff: PEANUTS, Drums, My Dog, ... and best for last: Jace!!! ::
PEANUTS
My love for the Peanuts gang began with my first stuffed Snoopy
when I was a little kid. Hundreds of Peanuts books later
and Snoopy memorabilia surfacing in every room of my home, I'm still
a huge fan! Charles Schulz is someone I would have liked to meet.
I've been asked by many of my friends about my fascination for this
comic strip and its characters. I tell them that I see a little bit
of Charlie Brown, Linus, Peppermint Patty, Pig Pen,
and the rest of the gang in everybody I meet. Who hasn't wanted
to "kick that ball" like Charlie Brown or be as cool
as Joe Cool? The Peanuts strip puts life into perspective
with its simple, pure, and honest messages.

Drums
Sometimes people are surprised to find out that I play the drums.
In fact, I enjoy playing the drums as much as I enjoy learning and
teaching math! I have been playing the drums since I was 8.
My first snare drum arrived in my parents' basement for
Christmas when I was in the third grade, and three years later, I got my
first drum set. I still have my original set, but have added new pieces
to it throughout the years. I love playing jazz, rock, country, hip-hop,
disco ... well, almost any type of music that you can think of.
In fact, I've played in jazz, rock, Christian, marching, country,
polka, and punk bands.
I currently play in a band with Dr. Rich House (english) and Dr. Richard Layton (ME).
My Dog

Paige was my very first dog. I got her at the SPCA in the summer of 1999 to walk with
me at the beach while I mulled over mathematics. She's part lab
combined with lots of other breeds. Paige was my constant companion
as I worked on my dissertation. When I attempt to work too hard or too long,
she lets me know with her tugging paw on my arm and wet nose in my books.
