Dulcimer
I built this all walnut dulcimer from a kit. The kit was made by Cedar Creek
Dulcimers. It is a very nice kit. I ended up making a few
modifications to the kit: I hollowed out the underside of the fret
board, the top and bottom overhang the sides and I used violin tuning
pegs. I replaced the plastic nut and bridge with those made from
ebony. I inadvertendly cut the grove on the underside of the fret board
the entire length. To hide that, I added a small piece near the nut
and a piece at the bottom of the dulcimer. I finished it with my own
concoction of tung oil and polyurethane. The dulcimer looks nice and I
find the sound to be very pleasant. I will post a sound video once I
get a bit better at playing the dulcimer.
