CS-100: Introduction to Programming and Problem
Solving
Mike Wollowski
Welcome to the homepage for my sections of CS-100. This homepage is
designed to assist in running this course. As the semester progresses,
I will post supporting materials, review materials for the exams,
curves and statistics about the exams, and other announcements. You
should read this page periodically (once a week).
Book
Computing Concepts with C++ Essentials, Second Edition, by Cay
Horstmann (John Wiley & Sons, 1999)
Grading
Your final grade will be composed of the following items, with their
associated weights.
| Exam 1 | 20%
|
| Exam 2 | 20%
|
| Final exam | 30%
|
| Pre- and In-Lab exercises | 10%
|
| Homeworks | 20%
|
In order to pass the course, you must have a passing average in the
exams and you must turn in all labs and pre-labs.
Curving
Exams and homeworks may be curved, depending on the overall
performance of the class.
Attendance Policy
Attendance is mandatory. If you cannot make it to class or lab for
some reason or other, you are still responsible for all materials
covered in class as well as all announcements. If you have a conflict
with an exam and you would like to take it at some other time, you
must let me know at least two week ahead of time.
Academic Integrity
See the departmental
statement on academic honesty. Dishonesty on homeworks or exams may
receive a lowered course grade or a grade of an F in the course.
