After completing today's reading, exercises, and the associated homework you should be able to:

Do everything from last time for particles in three dimensions:

• Define what is meant by a particle..
• Determine when bodies of finite size can be treated as particles.
• Apply equilibrium equation(s) to a particle by
  • drawing a complete and correct free body diagram, and
  • writing the equilibrium equations based on the free body diagram.
