Senior Class Placement Rate Increasing Daily, Expected to be at 89% by Commencement

Sealing The Deal: Seniors and other Rose-Hulman students sought post-graduate, internship, and co-op opportunities during this year's Spring Career Fair, attended by 77 companies.

Less than a month before receiving their diplomas, 77 percent of the members of Rose-Hulman's Class of 2016 have accepted post-graduation employment, are deciding upon job offers, plan to attend graduate school, or will be commissioned military officers through Army and Air Force ROTC programs.

And, that placement statistic is anticipated to be at 89 percent by commencement on May 28th, according to Kevin Hewerdine, director of career services and employer relations.

The average accepted salary offer is currently $70,849 with a high offer at $120,000.

Other features of the current placement statistics for the Class of 2016 are:

  • The accepted job offers have come from companies in 27 states and three countries.
  • Seniors have accepted offers from 150 unique companies, led by Rockwell Collins (10), Amazon (8), Eli Lilly and Company (8), Epic (7), Texas Instruments (7), ArcelorMittal (6), Edgile (6), Ford Motor Company (6), Google (6), and Marathon Petroleum (6).
  • 89 seniors are planning to attend graduate school. They will be attending top programs at Georgia Institute of Technology, Stanford University, Vanderbilt University, Johns Hopkins University, Washington University (Missouri), The Ohio State University, University of California, and University of Texas.
  • A record 380 companies sought students for positions by attending campus career fair events, with 2,081 interviews being conducted on campus. More than 930 companies requested to review students' resumes from the Office of Career Services.
