Overview

This document gives step-by-step instructions for installing TortoiseSVN, a Subversion version control client for Windows.

Installing TortoiseSVN

Install TortoiseSVN as follows:

  1. Login to your .\localmgr account if you have not already done so.
  2. 2011+ laptops have the recent version, and you do not need to do anything.  If you have a version of TortoiseSVN prior to version 1.7.5, uninstall your existing version (using the "Add/Remove Programs" control panel in Windows XP or "Uninstall a program" in Windows 7) and reboot your computer. Login to your .\localmgr account again.
To find the version number of your current installation (if any), open My Documents. Right-click on some folder and select TortoiseSVN → About

  3. Select:

    and choose Run.

  4. Follow the instructions for installation, accepting all defaults
  5. Restart your computer and login to your OWN account (the one that you usually use, NOT localmgr)
