Acouple of them were sad that they couldn't work on the robots but that was about the only bad part of the meeting."

"- I encountered no problems. - I think the people I talked to and myself learned something about keeping kids interested in what we're saying. - We just let whoever wanted to talk, talk. This was during the report what you did section of the class. - I learned that 60% of my team is taking or has taken Japanese. I think that's interesting since the teams were assigned pretty randomly. - I think maybe for adults as well, having an activity during a lecture that makes them stand up and do something might be useful."

We met online in an AIM chatroom which worked just fine. Due to scheduling problems, I was in the lab assisting so it was difficult for me to be completely active, however because it was an AIM log, I could always go back and read what was said. Previously, I had not appreciated the value of having the meetings logged."

I also completed the surveys for March 31st-April 2nd and April 3rd.  After that I got ready for our trip to Woodrow Wilson.  Once I had everything in line, I meet with my team and then drove to Woodrow Wilson.  "	"Tuesday was a pretty good day.  Our group went to Woodrow Wilson by ourselves for the first time.  I would say that for the most part the students listened to us.  We played a game with the students called human programming.  After the students got the basic idea we showed them all of the different motors and sensors and then helped them write their first program.  We didn’t have much time so we went pretty fast.  I can’t think of a better way to teach the middle school students about programming that would make it more exciting.  Many of the students really seemed like they got it.  I think this team will do fine in this competition.  We will just need to keep working with the students to get them to feel more comfortable with the software and equipment."

Lucky for us, we had nothing to say because or teams never really got AHOLD of us. Thus, I chalk it up to a miss and move on. I have told each team that if they want our help, they should contact us, and I believe this to be the best course of action. If they want us, they can come get us. That simple.  The rest of the time was spent showing off all the ideas I had for our robot(s) in the "Beyond Botball" compeition. From turtling (holding out on our side) to zerg rushing (making 4 robors to attack together at once) I described each of my plans to my fellow team mates. As it turns out, they only really liked one as they figured that the rest of my crazy ideas where... a bit too far complex. However, the ideas for a barrier to use against the oppenants robot(s) has passed inital critism and I hope that the rest of this week (and break) I can come up plans and ideas for it."
