The rules for Exam 2 are the same as the rules for Exam 1 EXCEPT: your Hint Sheet may now be TWO sheets of 8.5 by 11 paper (or one double-sided sheet).

Here (below) are the instructions for Exam 2. Except for details (e.g. the time to take the exam), they are the same as the instructions for Exam 1.

If you have any questions or concerns about the following, please contact your instructor BEFORE you begin the exam.

1. IMPORTANT: Before you take the exam, you must complete your Admission Ticket for taking the exam.

2. STRUCTURE of the exam: Each exam in CSSE 120 has two parts:

   • A so-called “Paper-and-Pencil” part.

     • Read its description and rules.

   • An On-the-Computer part.

     • Read its description and rules.

3. WHEN you take the exam:

   • The exam is available to you:
     • Noon to 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 23
     • Noon to 5 p.m. on Friday, April 24
     • Noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 26
     All times are EDT (Terre Haute time).
   • Select any 3-hour period during ANY of the above to take the exam.
     • Your choice.
     • No need to tell us when you plan to take it.
     • The 3 hours should be contiguous. That is, once you start the exam, you should finish the exam by 3 hours later. If something happens that makes that difficult for you, no worries: just contact us and make special arrangements.
   • If you have an accommodation that allows extra time on exams, contact us so that we can make arrangements.
   • If you cannot take the exam during the times listed above, or if you need any other special accommodation, or if something comes up unexpectedly that prevents you from taking the exam, contact us. No worries, we will make things work for you.

4. WHERE you take the exam:

   • Anywhere you want.

5. HOW you OBTAIN the exam:

   • At noon on Thursday, April 23, we will:

     • Open a Moodle section (topic) named Exam 2. That section will contain:
       • An item to use to take and turn in your Paper-and-Pencil part of the exam.
       • An item to use to turn in your On-the-Computer part of the exam.
     • Put a new project into your repository named 16-Exam2-202030.

6. HOW you TAKE the exam:

   When you are ready to begin the exam:

   1. Get onto your computer, connected to the Internet. (If this is difficult for you, contact us.)
   2. Enter Moodle. Take the Paper-and-Pencil part of the exam, following its Description and Rules linked in item #2 above.
   3. Open PyCharm. Do VCS ~ Update to obtain the exam (if it is not already present). Take the On-the-Computer part of the exam, following its Description and Rules linked in item #2 above.
      • Once you begin the On-the-Computer part of the exam, you may NOT return to the Paper-and-Pencil part of the exam.

7. HOW you TURN IN the exam:

   • Submit the Paper-and-Pencil part of the exam when you are finished taking it, on Moodle.

   • Submit the On-the-Computer part of the exam in the same way that you submit your other PyCharm projects:
     • First, do VCS ~ Commit and select Commit-and-Push, as usual.
       • Do this frequently — that way, if your computer dies you won't lose any work!
       • Be sure to do a Commit-and-Push at the end.
       • You can do VCS ~ Git ~ Push (way at the bottom of the pop-up menu) just to be sure that you pushed, if you like.
     • Second, turn in your code to Moodle, in the section (topic) for the Exam that is labelled Turn in your Code from your PyCharm exam project here.
       • Selecting that item will bring up a place where you can drag and drop your modules into Moodle.
       • Drag and drop ALL the modules in the src folder for the session, but JUST those modules.
       • Include the modules like rosegraphics.
       • Do NOT zip the folder -- just drag and drop the FILES in the src folder.
