Preparation for Session 1

Quiz

BEFORE each class session, you will do PREPARATION for the session -- usually watching some videos and doing short quizzes while doing so. The first video below gives details about this process.

Do the quiz as you watch the videos and do the reading. The quiz follows the same order as the videos/reading do.

Videos and Reading:

If you have not already done so, do these instructions for setting up your computer for CSSE 120.
Watch these videos BEFORE your Session 1 class:
1. The Flipped Classroom [4:43 minutes].
2. Software Engineering, Software Development, and Programming Languages [3:44 minutes].
3. The following four videos PREVIEW what you will do DURING Session 1. WATCH them NOW but do NOT attempt to follow along them in PyCharm -- you will do that DURING class. Just WATCH them for now.
  - Getting the starting code at each Session [4:45 minutes].
  - Running a program and turning in work [4:13 minutes]. Note: this and subsequent videos are from an older environment than PyCharm, but they work fine to show the concepts.
  - Objects: Constructing them, calling methods on them, and accessing their instance variables. [9:51 minutes].
  - Loopy Turtles [13:56 minutes].
