Session 22 Preparation

Videos and Reading:

All of the following are required except items labeled Optional are, well, optional (i.e., things that may be interesting but do not directly pertain to your success in this course).

Reminder: Test 3: ...

... is Wednesday evening, May 3.

The regular in-class session on the PREVIOUS FRIDAY is an OPTIONAL review session.
The test itself is Wednesday evening from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. (with an additional 30-minute grace period)
- So NOT during regular class. This is an EVENING exam.
The rooms for the test are:
- Mutchler, section 1: Olin 267
- Mutchler, section 2: Olin 269
- You MUST have completed Session 14 (including the paper-and-pencil exercises) BEFORE you take this test. (But it is OK if you do not complete the "hourglass" problems at the end of the Session 14 problems.)
- It is your ADMISSION TICKET to the test.

Reminder:

Your goal is to understand the exercises that you do, not merely to “get them done.”

Be sure that you completely understand all the work that you turn in.
Make good use of the many resources available to you:
- In-class help.
- The Piazza site for asking questions and seeing answers: piazza.com/rose-hulman/fall2017/csse120/home
- Out-of-class help from your instructor and/or the Learning Center.
- Out-of-class help from another student who is knowledgeable AND knows how to help you LEARN (as opposed to merely helping you complete the problem).
- The videos, readings and quizzes.
- And more.
Work efficiently. For most problems, if you are still working on the problem after 10 minutes on that problem:
- STOP working on that problem.
- Continue to the next problem.
- At the next class session (or sooner), ask for help on the problem(s) that you did not complete.

If you have any questions about the following documents/instructions, ask your instructor about them BEFORE you begin Test 3.

- Read this explanation of the Format of Test 3.
Honesty Pledge
- Read this Honesty Pledge that you will complete and turn in at the end of the test.
Practice Problems for the Paper-and-Pencil part

Print these Practice Paper and Pencil problems and then:
1. Write your solutions to them on the paper that you printed.
2. AFTER (!) doing the above problems, check your answers to the problems via the Answer Key to those problems.
Practice Problems for the On-the-Computer part
- Complete at least MOST of the problems in your Session20_Test3_Practice project.
Your ADMISSION TICKET to the test ...
- is to do the Practice Problems (paper-and-pencil and on-the-computer) as described above.
