Current Work Schedules to Continue Under New Executive Order

Colleagues:

As the current state of affairs in the state and the nation continues to evolve due to the pandemic, we continue to monitor the impact that these circumstances are having on our employees.  This afternoon, Indiana‘s Governor Holcomb issued a new Executive Order outlining the State’s plan for a gradual reopening.  This plan is outlined in five stages of gradual reopening as follows:

                        Stage 1            Current Stage

                        Stage 2            May 4—May 23

                        Stage 3            May 24—June 13

                        Stage 4            June 14—July 3

                        Stage 5            July 4—

While we’ve had very little time to examine all details of the Order and assess exactly how it may/may not impact Rose-Hulman, given our initial review, we have decided that for the duration of Stage 2 (May 4—23) we will continue under our current mode of operation and schedules for all staff and faculty.  That means, exclusively campus-based employees continue on their current one on, two week off block rotation, and those employees that have been working exclusively from home or have a blended remote/on campus assignment, will continue to follow that work plan/protocol.

As we learn more about exactly how the next stages of this plan are working and are able to integrate those stages with our current planning, we will be sending out further clarification which will include more specific details about exact steps and protocol for Stage 3 (beginning May 24th) and beyond…hopefully sooner, but no later than May 15th.

I continue to be grateful for your patience, tenacity and dedication to Rose-Hulman during this difficult period in our history…and remain confident that we will survive this pandemic and continue to serve our mission.

Rob.
