Polyphase Decomposition

Polyphase decomposition of filter h[n] using components ek[n].

Note This:

  1. The input signal is initially a ramp.
  2. Look closely at the first column of plots. Looking from top to bottom you'll see the signal being advanced by one sample each time.
  3. The next column of plots has been downsampled by M=4. Since each started in a different place in the signal, each has captured a difference subset of the signal.
  4. The next column has been upsampled.
  5. The next column has been delayed so that the samples now appear where they will be in the final signal.
  6. The last plot shows everthing summed back to get the original signal.
