Admission to graduate study permits a student to pursue a Masters degree program. Students admitted with an undergraduate GPA below 3.0/4.0 are automatically on probation for the first quarter of graduate work. Admission on probation means the student must have at least a B average (GPA = 3.0/4.0) for the first twelve credit hours of graduate study in order to continue.
An applicant who is either a graduate of a program of uncertain quality or has an academic record that cannot be readily compared to the Rose-Hulman admission standards, may, upon recommendation of the major department, be admitted as a special student, subject to any conditions stated by the Office of Research and Graduate Studies. An individual so admitted is considered to be on probation.
All new graduate students should report to the Office of Research and Graduate Studies upon their arrival on campus.
