CSSE 413: Natural Language Processing

Overview

The purpose of this assignment is to study an NLP approach or technique. Please work on this assignment in pairs. If you feel that your project needs more resources, please consider recruiting another team, no limits.

Requirements

Research and experiment with an information retrieval task that requires natural language processing (in addition to anything else that may be necessary.)

Write up your findings in a one to two page report, including any data you collected. The scope of the project should be about 20 person hours.

Any of the tasks from the IR assignment, to study how the use of the structure provided by a parse tree improves the results.
Relation extraction
Document summarization
Sentiment analysis
Entity linking
Information extraction

Illinois NLP kit (Python, not as extensive as the Stanford kit)
