There are a variety of ways that you can volunteer on campus and at alumni events. Take a look at the options below and decide which opportunity might be right for you. Then reach out to the Office of Alumni Relations to get started.
Year-Round Volunteer Opportunities
Become an Alumni Network Coordinator
Work with the Office of Alumni Relations to plan alumni events in your area and host happy hours throughout the year to pull together a Rose-Hulman network in your own backyard.
Join the R.A.R.E. (Rose Alumni Recruiting Engineers) team
R.A.R.E. is an organization of Rose-Hulman alumni who help the Office of Admissions recruit the very best students. The time commitment is very small; an evening or two for college fairs, an hour or two a month to make phone calls or write emails and a couple of hours at a reception. Some volunteers do all the above, some only one.
Join the Alumni Advisory Board (AAB)
The Alumni Advisory Board is a small group representing each decade of living alumni. AAB members help provide support for the institute, its mission, and its students. The AAB is also responsible for hosting the Alumni Awards Celebration each year and choosing the award winners.
Young Alumni - Join an AAB Committee (Without joining AAB)
Graduates of the last decade can work with the young alumni committee to help engage other young alums with the institute.
Career Services
Work with the Office of Career Services to provide insight into what your company looks for in new employees.
Department Advisory Boards
Help guide the direction for your department by joining its alumni advisory board (if available). Contact your specific department to learn more about opportunities.
Fraternity/Sorority Advisory Boards
If you are a member of a fraternity or sorority on campus, you have the opportunity to serve in an advisory capacity for them as an alumnus. Contact your Rose fraternity/sorority chapter to get started.
Event-Specific Volunteer Opportunities
Homecoming Volunteer Opportunities
Many volunteer opportunities are available over the course of Homecoming weekend, including reunion volunteers, tent city/beer tent volunteers, and welcome center volunteers, and volunteers for department open houses.
Alumni Awards Celebration Volunteers
The Alumni Awards Celebration is held each year in March and volunteers are needed to help coordinate the awards program, check-in, and reception.
Local Event Volunteers
Is Rose-Hulman coming to your area and hosting an event? Volunteer to help at the check-in table or mingle with other alumni as an event co-host.
Commencement Volunteers
Volunteer with the Office of Alumni Relations to help get the 50th class ready for commencement.
Classroom Volunteers
Volunteer with faculty across campus to come into their classrooms and share your industry expertise.
