This potato masher is made from food grade stainless steel. I hot-bent the steel and then removed the scale in vinegar and sanded and polished the steel. I turned the walnut handle on my lathe and finished it with epoxy.This kind of masher makes the perfect mashed potatos, they need to have some small coarse pieces in them.
