Bathroom Hardware

This hardware has stylized 3D leaves. In order to have sufficient materials for the leaves, a 1/2" bar was folded over near the end and forge welded together. The pairs of leaves themselves are forged together and the towel bar has a few additional forge welds. As part of producing this hardware, I learned how to forge weld two pieces free handedly. By this I mean that the two pieces are taken out of the fire separately and then placed together. One pair of tongs is then dropped so that one can pick up a hammer to finish the weld. This is an exciting process that demands intense focus and quick action. The screw holes have been punched half-way through and drilled. All the hardware has been wire brushed with an angle grinder and finished with a satin clear coat.
