The head of this adze was made from high-carbon steel. The handle was made from low carbon steel. My friend Max helped me forge the head using his power hammer as the steel was very hard. My friend Garry welded the two pieces together. I attached the cocobolo with brass pins. The adze came out well as it stays sharp for several hours of hewing.
