1. Create your
poster in PowerPoint
The easiest way
to create a poster for printing on the Myers poster printer is with Microsoft
PowerPoint, but any program that can print will work.

2. Install a postscript printer
A postscript
printer allows you to print your poster to a file that the printer can read.
From the
Start bar, select:
- Start
- Settings
- Printers
- Add
Printer
Follow the
install printer wizard's instructions
- Select
Local Printer when prompted
- Select
QMS Colorscript 1000 level 1 as the printer type

- Name the printer "Postscript Printer" so that it will be easily identified
Note: you will probably NOT want to set the postscript
printer as your default printer
3. Print poster to file
With your poster
loaded in PowerPoint, select:
- File
- Print
- Select the Postscript Printer that you just set up

- Check the Scale to fit paper box

- Select OK
When the "Print to file" window appears,
- Browse to the location to save the postscript file
(somewhere on
your hard
drive)
- Name the file with a .eps (Encapsulated PostScript)
extension
- Change the "Save as type:" option to All Files (*.*) using the menu

- Select Save
4. Deliver file to Gary Burgess
Send the postscript file of your poster to Gary Burgess,
the Myers building technician, to have it printed
or
- hand deliver file to Gary Burgess's office
(M124) on a CD or LS-120 disk
Note: Remember to mention what dimensions you want your poster to have
(example: "Please scale the long dimension of my poster to 34.75 in. and
keep the original ratio between the length and width.")
5. Pick up poster and bill
Your poster and bill can be picked up at Gary Burgess's office (M124).
You will be charged $1.00 per square
foot of paper used.
