Summer 2007 RHIT-NSWC Undergraduate Research

APPLICATION

Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (R-HIT) and Crane Division of Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) offer Summer 2007 Undergraduate Research. This is an opportunity for undergraduates to conduct research outside of their typical academic curriculum. This research applies a student’s knowledge and enhances this knowledge with interdisciplinary teamwork and applied discussion with science and engineering faculty and peers.

Research will be conducted in the field of optical radar that incorporates laser technology, fiber optic systems, RF technology, software interfacing, and electronics. This research work will be carried out using the facilities of Center for Applied Optics Studies and laboratories of the John T. Myers Center for Technological Research with Industry.

To apply for this program, the following materials should be complied:

1. The attached application form, including:

A brief statement that describes your interests in science and engineering, personal goals and motivations in your field of study, and evidence of your qualifications for this program.
Contact information for two references. These references may be instructors or academic advisors. These individuals will be contacted to discuss your potential for scientific research.

2. A college transcript.
