Summer 2007 RHIT-NSWC Undergraduate Research
June- August, 2007
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, in cooperation with Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) at Crane, seeks undergraduate engineering and science students to conduct research.
Participants will spend ten weeks working on interdisciplinary teams to design and
study an optical radar system. Research will be conducted under the direction of
Rose-Hulman faculty and staff
members. This project will integrate laser technology, fiber optic systems,
RF signal processing, software interfacing, and
electronics. Discussion and lectures will also be held to aid in the students
comprehension of all pertinent disciplines.
SUPPORT
ELIGIBILITY Any undergraduate student pursuing a degree in science or engineering is encouraged to apply. These students have preferably completed their sophomore or junior year, but outstanding freshmen will be considered.
LOCATION Rose-Hulman is a private, fully accredited engineering and science college. It offers state of the art laboratories and experienced faculty. Rose-Hulman is located 70 miles west of Indianapolis.
APPLICATION All application materials must be received by APRIL 1, 2007. The applicant is responsible for completing an application which includes a statement of scientific interests, two references and an academic transcript.
SELECTION Selection will be based on academic achievement, academic references and relevance of interests to the intended research. References will be contacted to discuss potential of applicant for scientific research.
