Carmel High School students gather for a group photograph after winning this year's Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Mathematics Competition for their fourth consecutive title.
Shonk Award Winners:
Daniel Vance of Fishers High School and
Amanda Li of Park Tudor High School
earned honors for having the top male and female scores in the freshman division of this year's Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Mathematics Competition. The book, An Episodic History of Mathematics, came from a fund established to honor former Vigo County teacher Sally Shonk.
Amanda Li had a perfect score.

Top Sophomores:
Kevin Mi (Carmel), Crishan Fernando (Carmel), Alex Yu (Carmel), Julia Wang (Park Tudor), Kevin Fei( Carmel), and Nathan Mytelka (Park Tudor)
received book prizes as the top male and female sophomore place finishers in this year's Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Mathematics Competition. Each recieved The Art and Craft of Problem Solving,
in memory of former Cincinnati contest organizer Mary Rhein.
The books were donated by Wiley Publishing.

Top Juniors:
Chanmin Kim of Champaign Central High School
and David Liang of Carmel High School
earned perfect scores to
take first place honors in the junior class division of this year's Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Mathematics Competition.
This was Liang's second consecutive perfect score.
Presenting the award were Allen Broughton, head of Rose-Hulman's Department of Mathematics, and Professor of Mathematics Eric Reyes.
Alex Barksdale (Terre Haute South),
Tervor Clinkenbeard (Iowa City West),
Ben Sheff (Iowa City West),
and Madeline Snipes (Fishers)
had a perfect 100-point score to win the senior class division of this year's Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Mathematics Competition.
Congratulating the senior winners were were Allen Broughton(left), head of Rose-Hulman's mathematics department, and Professor of Mathematics Sylvia Carlisle.
