Since 1970 have negotiated
with various local Soviet organizations (police, hospitals, restaurants,
Intourist) for the satisfactory resolution of perceived problems.

1989 arranged the first college
student work exchange program between the USSR and the USA with one of the
first quasi-private enterprises in Moscow. The American students lived
with Soviet student work brigades and worked with them on construction
projects. In America, the Soviet students worked for McDonald's, Rose-Hulman
Institute of Technology, and Habitat for Humanity.

1990 and 1991 initiated,
developed, and negotiated three win/win academic exchange programs for
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Kaunas (Lithuania), St. Petersburg,
and Moscow. Exchanges were based on equality, not on charity for the
Russians, each side receiving real value Agreements were structured to
overcome Soviet habit of favoring party hacks. |
