MA 333/CSSE 490 Intro. to Parallel Computing provides a hands-on introduction to parallel machines and algorithms for them. The emphasis will be on understanding RHIT's parallel cluster and on algorithms appropriate for performing standard computations, such as the solution of linear systems Ax=b, on a parallel machine. Students will write programs that will be run on the cluster. Prerequisites: MA221 and programming experience.
There will be weekly homework (25%), a project (25%), a midterm (25%), and a final exam (25%).
