Statistics for Engineers I (Section 2)
MA223 covers probability and applied statistics with an emphasis on inferential statistics. The text is "Applied Statistics for Engineers and Scientists" by Devore and Farnum. There will be three midterm exams (20% each) and a cumulative final exam (25%). Homework will be collected on Mondays and Thursdays (10%); read any section from which homework is assigned. Classroom participation, particular when we work on in-class problems, is important (5%). Absences beyond six or failure to be prepared may affect your grade.
