Modeling and simulation of physical systems III: An approach for modeling dynamic constraints

An extension to the computer package ldae is presented. In its present form, the ldae package automates the formulation of equations of motion for discrete physical systems and numerically solves the resulting differential-algebraic equations of motion. Two new contributions are made: the ldae package is modified to accomodate dynamic constraints, and a new solver is developed based on an implicit Runge-Kutta technique. The computer package is available via anonymous ftp to in directory pub/fabien/ldae.
