Homework 1 (due Friday): Handed out in class. Also in PDF format in our software directory.
Have Chapter 0 read by next Monday. You may find that you will need to review some of your linear algebra 1 text at times.
Start reading Chapter 1.
Tuesday
Work During Class: Questions over HW1. More on chapter 1.
Thursday
Work During Class: Questions over HW1 or chapters 0 or 1.
Friday
Work During Class: Research Topic Day.
Week 2
Monday
Work During Class: Hand back HW 1. Questions over chapter1 0 and 1. Discussion
of a couple proofs in chapter 1.
Assignment HW 2 (due next Monday) - Page 71 - 1,2,3,4,7,9,10; the two exercises
on page 81; page 108 - 1.
Tuesday
Work During Class: Quiz 1 from proofs of Thm 1.3.7, page 46, Exercise on page
58, Thm 1.4.8, page 60, Thm 1.4.8 (only a implies b), page 60. After the quiz,
start chapter 2.

Work During Class: More from chapter 2.

to hand in and present.

know that you know it) of the Cayley-Hamilton Theorem (Thm 2.4.2);
