Segovia has a castle, a Roman aqueduct and a cathedral... who could ask for more? A medium-sided town close to Madrid but at a higher elevation and thus cooler in the summer months, Segovia has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO due to its extraordinary beauty and rich history. This well-established program from ISU and a consortium of other universities (the A.H.A.) offers a variety of courses appropriate for students who have completed two years of college-level language study.

Santiago de Compostela, located in the northwestern Spanish region of Galicia, is the ending point of a medieval pilgrimage route that is still followed today by pilgrims and tourists alike. The city has been named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and is known for the stonework of the old quarter — a large, well-preserved and vital city center where, as they say, "the stone is art." Centerpiece of Santiago, and ultimate destination of the pilgrims, is the cathedral with its world-famous inner facade. The many plazas, cafés and university students give the town a lively atmosphere. This program is suitable for students of all ability levels.
