Homework:

Homework problems will be assigned in class at which time the due date will be given. Please show all of your work (this means to explain your answers when appropriate). Please write only on one side of the paper. You are encouraged to discuss the homework with your colleagues, however, you are required to prepare your own solutions.

Exams:

There will be three in-class exams which will consist of short essay from topics listed on the provided study guide.

Holography

Experiment:

There will be a holography workshop that will be conducted in DL115 at various times this term.  The specific dates will be posted on the web site and announced in class as they become available.   Your participation in one of the workshops will count toward your final grade.

Grades:

The final grade will be determined as follows:

Homework – 40%

Exams – 45%

Holography Experiment – 15%

The holography session is scheduled for Saturday, November 7, 2009.  It will begin at about 10:00 AM and continue until early afternoon (ending at 2:00 PM).  Please let me know the time that you want to show up to make your hologram.  We will meet in front of DL115 (across the hallway from my office).
