Statement of Purpose

The Indiana Consortium for International Programs, founded in 1967 with the approval of the Indiana Conference on Higher Education, is an organization of colleges and universities in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and Illinois devoted to development of the international dimension of its member institutions.

Throughout its history ICIP has worked to improve faculty competence, encourage greater student achievement and awareness, develop curriculum, and provide services to assist member institutions in their individual international programs.

ICIP is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of one representative from each member institution. The Board meets twice each year to set policy for the organization and approve the calendar for the year ahead. A six-member Executive Committee elected from theBoard operates the consortium between directors' meetings.

Dr. John Stabler of Indiana State University was the first Executive Director of ICIP. Subsequent directors were Dr. David Waas of Manchester College, Dr. Allen B. Maxwell of Indiana University at Kokomo, Dr. Thomas A. Sargent of Ball State University, Dr. Raymond Dumett of Purdue University, Dr. Allen Berger of Saint Joseph's College, and Dr. Thomas P. Wolf of Indiana University Southeast.
