Letter to the Editor
It was impressive to see how many people attended the Homecoming game on Saturday, but there was something intrinsically missing. It might not have been obvious to the casual listener, but the school fight song was incomplete.
The pep band does an excellent job at the instrumental section, to be sure. However, when you look across the crowd and very few people are mouthing or singing the words to it (most of them past graduates), it reflects badly on the school. We are the number one undergraduate school in the nation for engineering, but we are too lazy or unmotivated to learn a simple fight song.
You can find a recording at http://www.rosehulman.edu/Users/groups/Chorus/download/FightSong.mp3 At the next home football game (October 28) let’s show that we truly are number one in more ways than academics; let’s show that we have ample school spirit as well.
