Frisbee golf...Rose style

Rachel Howser

The Student Government Association of Rose-Hulman sponsored a Frisbee Golf Tournament on Saturday, September 30 from 1-3 p.m. in Deming Park. The event was graced with amazing weather and was largely successful, with 14 teams competing with four members each. During the tournament, each hole was considered a par three for simplicity’s sake. The winning team was Kilimanjaro, consisting of members Jonathon Clark, Jacob Dugan, Jordan Kendall, and Richard Maxwell. As a team, they managed to shoot six under par on the 18-hole course. The second place team was Thieves, made up of members Ryan Blackburn, Devin Claerbout, Brandon Hathaway, and Nic Morfing. Numerous prizes were raffled off including: five Innova putters, a driver, a driver and putter combo, three t-shirts, a disc golf bag, and a grand prize consisting of a four-disc set of Innova discs and a disc golf bag. Jon Carson, one of the 56 competitors, stated, “It was a lot of fun, even though we lost. The members of my team felt like winners because we won two of the raffle prizes.” Another competitor stated that he felt that the tournament was worth it because of the 350 Buffalo Wild Wings offered afterwards. The wings were much appreciated and disappeared in approximately five minutes.
