6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Robotics and Computing at Rose-Hulman
E104, Moench Hall
This session is for students of any major who are interested in Robotics
at Rose-Hulman. The session will introduce students to the Robotics minor,
the Robotics Club, and the course that begins the Robotics minor – CSSE 120-R
(Introduction to Software Development, Robotics). At the end of the session
students may enroll in that course, subject to the instructor’s approval.
The session will include a lively demo of robots used in CSSE 120-R and other
courses. It will also present options for double majors or minors in Software
Engineering (SE), Computer Science (CS) and other disciplines, possibly combined
with a Robotics minor.

Placement Test
CSSE lab, F225, Moench Hall
This optional test is for students who wish to place into CSSE 221, Fundamentals
of Software Development Honors. (But note that students who have earned scores
of 4 or 5 on a CSSE AP exam will already be placed into the appropriate CSSE course
and should not take this test.) CSSE 221 is intended for students who have sufficient
programming experience to warrant placement in an accelerated course covering the
topics from CSSE 120 (Introduction to Software Development) and its follow-up CSSE
220 (Object-Oriented Software Development). CSSE 221 is 4 credit hours; upon successful
completion, 4 additional credit hours for CSSE 120 will be awarded. Students interested
in taking this placement test are welcome to contact David Mutchler (Professor of Computer
Science and Software Engineering, (mutchler@rose-hulman.edu)
to learn more about the test.

constructions. Students are invited to visit each project team’s

Bott grew up in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where inhaling desert-dust
and scorching heat has severely warped his brain. Sean has been
described as a “crazy mix between Jack Black and Criss Angel.
Amazing! Sean has appeared on the Sci-fi Channel, The WB and on air
with Radio Disney performing his unique blend of hilarious characters
and psychic entertainment.”

RHIT Mathematics Placement Exam
There is no specific time set aside for RHIT Mathematics Placement Exams
during student orientation as placement is primarily accomplished through the
national AP Calculus tests, college transfer credit, and Fast Track Calculus.
Students wishing to take an RHIT Mathematics Placement Exam during student
orientation must make an appointment with the Chair of the Mathematics
