Rose-Hulman Women's Tennis Captures Invitational Title,
Improves to 9-5 on Season

TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of
Technology women's tennis team captured the first Engineer Tennis
Invitational championship with victories over St. Joseph's, Thomas More
and Lake Land to improve to 9-5 on the season.
The Engineers topped St. Joseph's 9-0 on Friday night,
then claimed a 9-0 win over Thomas More and a 6-3 victory over Lake Land
in the championship match.
"It was wonderful to win our first invitational. I
am very pleased with how everyone played and contributed to our team
effort through the day. We're working hard and earned the
invitational title," said head coach Brenda Goble.
Junior Megan Lafferty (Bismarck, N.D.), senior
Krista Gonnerman (Holland, Ind.) and freshman Kate Martin
(Greencastle) recorded perfect 3-0 singles records to lead Rose-Hulman's
team effort. Martin teamed with junior Rachel Logan (Fairless,
Pa.) for a 3-0 mark at the No. 2 doubles position. Senior
Sara Rohrabaugh (Center Point) added the clinching singles victory in
the championship match.
Rose-Hulman returns to action on April 13, hosting
Bellarmine University at the Joy Hulbert Tennis Center.
