DEFIANCE, OHIO -- The Rose-Hulman women's tennis
squad improved to 4-0 for the first time in school history with
a 9-0 win over Defiance and a 7-1 lead over Earlham on Saturday.
Senior Sam Danesis (Akron, Ohio) led the
Engineer effort with two victories at No. 1 singles and No. 1
doubles.
Other winners in both matches included junior
Megan Chann (Columbia, Mo./Rock Bridge) at No. 4 singles and
No. 2 doubles; freshman Melissa Montgomery
(Alexandria/Monroe) at No. 3 singles and No. 1 doubles; sophomore Klara Schroederus (Glenview, Ill./
Glenbrook South) at No. 5 singles and No. 3 doubles; and
sophomore Ellyn Norris (Penn Laird, Va./ Spotswood) at
No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles.
Rose Hulman stands 4-0 on the season and 3-0 in
Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play. The
Engineers will compete in the Franklin Coed Tournament on
Sunday.
