TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- The Rose-Hulman women's
tennis team finished 8-8 overall on the 2008 season after a
narrow 5-4 loss to Earlham College on Friday night.
The match began at Rose-Hulman's Joy Hulbert
Tennis Center and was concluded at the Wabash Valley Tennis
Center late Friday night due to rain.
Sophomore Sam
Danesis (Akron, Ohio/Revere) paced the Engineers with victories
at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles.
The doubles teams
of junior Katy
Zawadski (Yorktown) and junior Kristin Wilson (Lake Zurich,
Ill.) combined for a win at No. 2 doubles, while junior Maritza Gonzalez
(Vancouver, Washington) and freshman Caitlin Kohli (Lima,
Ohio) won at the No. 3 spot.
Rose-Hulman
concludes the season with an overall mark of 8-8 and finished third
in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference standings.
