GREENCASTLE, IND. -- The Rose-Hulman women's tennis team stands 8-7 on the season after defeating Illinois Wesleyan 6-3 and falling to Wheaton College 9-0 on Saturday at DePauw University.

Sophomore Sam Danesis (Akron, Ohio/Revere) paced the Engineers with victories at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles against Illinois Wesleyan.

Junior Katy Zawadski (Yorktown) contributed wins at the No. 3 singles and No. 2 doubles positions, while junior Maritza Gonzalez (Vancouver, Washington) earned victories at the No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles spots.

Nationally ranked Wheaton defeated DePauw University earlier in the day, prior to the victory over the Engineers.

Rose-Hulman stands 8-7 on the season and hosts Earlham College on Friday.
