  Rose-Hulman News Rose-Hulman Sweeps HCAC Foes at Transy

LEXINGTON, KY. – Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology swept Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foes Transylvania and Mount St. Joseph on Saturday to finish third in the league’s regular season standings. 

Rose-Hulman claimed a 7-2 win over Transylvania and a 5-1 victory over Mount St. Joseph to finish the HCAC regular season at 6-2 overall.  The Engineers will compete in the HCAC Team Tournament, with a trip to the NCAA Division III Tournament on the line, on October 20-21. 

Senior Sam Danesis (Akron, Ohio) led the Engineers with a 2-0 record in singles play and a doubles win over Transylvania.  Junior Katy Zawadski (Yorktown), junior Betsy Marschand (Galveston) and freshman Caitlin Kohli (Lima, Ohio) also tallied perfect 2-0 marks in singles play. 

Rose-Hulman improved to 6-3 on the season and returns to action at Oakland City University on Sunday.
