TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of
Technology has placed two players in the regional rankings from
the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
Sophomore Sam Danesis (Akron, Ohio)
stands No. 10 in singles in the Central Region and has teamed
with freshman Megan Chann (Columbia, Mo.) for a No. 9
ranking in doubles play.
Danesis finished 16-3 in singles play this fall
and has a career record of 36-6 in two years at Rose-Hulman.
She has twice been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic
Conference Player of the Year.
The team of Danesis and Chann tallied a 15-2
record at No. 1 doubles, including a championship at the HCAC
Individual Tournament. Danesis has a career doubles mark
of 32-6 over two seasons, including the 17 matches with Chann
this fall.
Rose-Hulman finished the fall season with a 7-4
record and captured third place in the HCAC. The Engineers
have recorded two consecutive winning seasons.
