GREENCASTLE, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of
Technology freshman Sam Danesis (Akron, Ohio/Revere) set
a new single-season win record for the Engineers singles program
to highlight an 8-1 loss at DePauw on Thursday.
Danesis avenged a loss at the ITA Tennis Regional
from last fall with a 6-4, 6-0 win over regionally ranked Sallie
Crawford of the No. 2 ranked Tigers.
Danesis improved to 18-2 in singles play this
season with the win, topping the previous school record by Alison Bailey.
Rose-Hulman dropped to 12-6 on the season and travels to St.
Joseph's on Sunday.
